Gawai Celebration at Kpg. Batu Bedang, Tebekang, Sarawak

Deep in the heart of Serian lies a Bidayuh village known as Kpg Batu Bedang. About 5 Km from Indonesian border, the village is roughly two hours drive from Kuching, and 28 km from Serian town. Communication is no problem because cell phone lines are available.

For those who want to visit this area, homestays are available at Mongkos set up by the local cooperative to generate revenue for the village.

This year Gawai Dayak Celebration was wonderful and fun. Me and my family held an open house to received guest and relative on the 1st June 2009.

Plenty of rice wine 'tuak', beer and lemang.

We also visited longhouse at Kpg Bunan Gega, Mongkos Serian, Sarawak.
